The Bishop of Guildford’s Lent Focus calls on the whole of the Diocese to Pray, Fast and Give in 2009 – the three traditional elements of Lenten observance.
This follows a highly successful 2008 Lent Appeal, which raised over £26,000 shared between The Amos Trust and the Bishop of Guildford’s Foundation.
Bishop Christopher has chosen that in 2009 the Bishop of Guildford’s Foundation will receive half of what is received once again, with the other half going to USPG projects in Zimbabwe, a country much in everyone’s minds at the moment. USPG supports the work of Anglican Churches in over 50 countries and will be able to ensure that the funds raised will reach the people who need it most.
