Bishop Jo consecrated at Canterbury CathedralThe diocese moved a significant step closer to welcoming its new suffragan bishop on Wednesday, 29 June, when the Revd Canon Dr Joanne Caladine Bailey Wells was consecrated Bishop of Dorking at Canterbury Cathedral. The ceremony marked the penultimate stage in the process of Jo taking up her role as the fifth Bishop of Dorking, prior to a service of welcome in Guildford Cathedral on Sunday, 25 September. The Canterbury service was led by the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, to whom Jo was chaplain until the beginning of the month. It was attended by senior faith leaders, parishioners from across the dioceses and family, friends and former colleagues. Story and photos on Diocesan website.
