Interfaith Week in Egham

Staines and Egham Quaker Meeting invited people of all denominations and faiths to meet in friendship and enjoy informal discussions over refreshments at the Friends Meeting House in Egham on 15 November. The occasion was intended to celebrate Interfaith Week in the UK. It was attended by Christian and Muslim groups and all enjoyed lively dialogue and sharing faith experiences. There was a strong sense of the similarities which exist in the diverse belief systems, and of how shared experiences and open minds can bring people together. Quakers shared some insights into their faith and history, and there were many questions asked and answered. We have learned from this and other recent events that meeting and breaking bread together promotes dialogue and helps to forge friendships.
