Bishop Andrew Visits Runnymede

Our new Bishop spent a day with Runnymede Chapter on 13 April, hosted by St Mary’s Church in Thorpe, when our clergy had a chance to present their churches and chaplaincies and in turn get to know their new leader. The day closed with a much larger gathering at St Peter’s Church in Chertsey where the Bishop mingled freely with the many people, lay and ordained from all the churches in our deanery, who had come to get to know him. The evening started informally with refreshments and chat in the church hall, followed by an open interview in church when Bishop Andrew answered questions about himself and his vision for the diocese, and drew to a close with a moving communion service.

Note +Andrew will also be preaching at a civic service on the occasion of the 800th Anniversary of the Sealing of the Magna Carta at St John’s Egham on 14 June – for further details see calendar.
